Friends of BPL
Who are the Friends?
The Friends of the Bitterroot Public Library is a group of dedicated volunteers who support the Library’s mission. Founded in 1977, the Friends is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit. The group raises funds and accepts donations that benefit the Library and its multitude of programs.
What do volunteers do?
- hold pop-up book sales
- manage the Book Gazebo
- manage book donations for Recycled Reads at Chapter One Book Store
- provide snacks and prizes for the youth Summer Reading Series
- assemble take-home craft kits for adults and kids
- bring donated books to places around town where people have time to read and more!
Would you like to be a Friend?
The Friends welcome new members from any background. The only requirement is enthusiasm for books, reading, and the Library!
Friends volunteer for the tasks that suit their own interests, skills, and schedules. Whether a little or a lot, the time that each Friend gives is a gift to the wider community that the Library serves.
